Iron Tide Command

★★★★☆ 4.2 Editor rating

Iron Tide Command is slower and more thoughtful than most mobile strategy fare, and that's the point. You manage a small fleet, route supplies between ports, and try to outposition an AI that actually reacts to your movements. There's no frantic tapping here — most turns are spent squinting at the map and second-guessing yourself.

The interface deserves credit. Zooming and panning feel natural, and important information sits where your thumbs can reach it. I did wish for a bigger tutorial, because the early hours throw a lot at you at once. Stick with it and the systems start clicking together nicely.

Because it's mostly static maps and menus, it sips battery, which makes it ideal for a long commute. This isn't a game for everyone, but strategy fans who like to think will find plenty here.
